REPORTS TO: Principal, County Athletic Director                                                               

 

SALARY/FLSA:  

  • The School will be responsible for funding the supplement for assistant athletic director based on the applicant’s category level in the LCS Assistant Athletic Director supplement schedule
  • Applicants must be able to handle the part-time assistant athletic director responsibilities while maintaining current assignments with the school.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Coaching experience preferred.
  • All coaches (volunteer or paid) must complete the required coaching courses on the NFHS Learning Center (NFHS.com).
  • CPR certification is required for paid coaches and may be completed through the school system if needed.
  • You must complete your HR onboarding policies, your HR screening (drug test and background check), and have a current health physical and TB test. 
  • Must be eligible and willing to obtain a CDL bus driver's license to drive the activity bus

 

Primary Role:

The Assistant Athletic Director supports the Athletic Director in the day-to-day operation of the athletic department with a primary focus on fundraising, concessions, community relations, and game day operations. This position works to strengthen athletic programs by developing community partnerships, increasing financial support for teams, ensuring efficient event operations, and fostering collaboration among coaches, booster clubs, and school stakeholders. 

 

Athletic Department Operations

  • Assists the Athletic Director in the organization and management of the school's athletic program.
  • Supports coaches with operational needs and serves as a resource for athletic events and activities.
  • Assists with scheduling and coordinating athletic events as assigned.
  • Helps ensure athletic events are organized, safe, and professionally managed.
  • Performs administrative duties related to athletic department operations as assigned.

Fundraising and Financial Support

  • Serves as the primary coordinator for athletic fundraising initiatives.
  • Develops and oversees school-wide fundraising opportunities that benefit athletic programs.
  • Works collaboratively with coaches to coordinate team fundraising efforts and avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Identifies new fundraising opportunities and community partnerships to support athletic programs.
  • Assists with sponsorship development and donor recognition.

Concession Stand Operations

  • Oversees concession stand operations for home athletic events.
  • Maintains concession inventory and ensures adequate supplies are available for all events.
  • Coordinates ordering, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Recruits, schedules, and organizes concession stand volunteers with the school and boosters organizations. 

 

Community and School Relations

  • Builds positive relationships with students, parents, coaches, booster organizations, officials, and community members.
  • Promotes a positive image of North Lincoln High School athletics.
  • Assists in recognizing student-athlete achievements and athletic accomplishments.
  • Supports initiatives that increase community involvement in school athletics.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains professional work habits and ethical standards.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities related to athletic administration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or Athletic Director.

COACHING COURSES REQUIRED:

All coaches (volunteer or paid) must complete the following courses through the National Fundamentals of High School (NFHS.combefore being approved to work with student athletes:

  • Fundamentals of Coaching (8 +/- hour) High School Coaches
  • Concussion Training (45 minute) - All Coaches
  • CPR Certification Required
  • Coaching Mental Health Wellness certificate required
  • Afterschool Security Certificate is required
