Homebound Teacher, multiple positions

Reports To: Principal
Monthly Salary: Teacher State Salary Schedule (Daily Rate of Pay – Per Hour)
Temporary, part-time, hours may vary
FLSA: EXEMPT
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Applicants must hold a North Carolina teaching license in appropriate licensure area
- Flexibility with hours worked
Goal: To develop, organize and implement instructional programs to meet the needs of students who are unable to attend school for medical reasons. Homebound teachers must hold a valid North Carolina Teaching License.
Homebound Teacher Duties:
- Demonstrate knowledge of educational and EC laws, rules, regulations, practices, and trends
- Display knowledge of educational curricula as well as instructional methodologies and evidence-based practices
- Adapt instruction as needed due to a student’s ability level, learning styles, and/or special needs in order to promote student success
- Provide all accommodations, modifications, and services as listed in a student’s IEP
- Develop lesson plans to implement with an EC student designed to teach appropriate skills in accordance with IEP goals
- Collect progress monitoring data on the student’s IEP goals and utilize the data to inform present levels of performance and drive instruction
- Help provide a learning environment that promotes security, safety, comfort, and confidence for a student
- Deliver instructional strategies so a student is actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
- Use appropriate materials, technology, and resources for instruction and facilitate the student’s use of the tools and resources when applicable
- Compile a variety of EC records, reports, and documentary forms for EC services and programs for the student while maintaining compliance with regulations and timelines
- Coordinate, facilitate, and lead IEP Team meetings as needed for a student
- Collaborate with school staff, administrators, and other appropriate persons to assist in meeting the student’s needs
- Establish and maintain a positive collaborative relationship with the student and the student’s family to increase student achievement
- Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures
- Must be self-motivated, self-directed, organized, and flexible
- Maintain professional competence through self-selected professional growth activities and in-service educational activities provided by the district
- Must be able to perform heavy work exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift objects
- Other duties as assigned
